Ebony is an 11 year old girl with the world ahead of her, but she’s had some major obstacles to overcome. However, regardless of the situation Ebony has a smile on her face that lights up the room. She makes excellent grades and is incredible in so many ways. She deserved a place where she could, study, relax, and dream. Thanks to some amazing Zoie Sky volunteers and donations from people like you we were able to make that dream a reality. Ebony finally has a room all her own! Thank you for supporting Zoie Sky. Please continue to pray for Ebony and her family that she can overcome her circumstance and rise to meet her potential.
Our very first room of the fall is Mollie’s Room and it will take place on October 9th and 10th. If you read the post “Meet Mollie” then you know that she is fighting childhood cancer right now. Her room is opening a whole new door for us at Zoie Sky to begin, not only helping children in poverty, but also helping children with long-term illnesses. While we are excited to give Mollie a new room we also want to ask all our Zoie Sky friends to pray for a cure for Mollie and the millions of children fighting their own battles right now. We also want to thank OLV Investment Group for sponsoring Mollie’s Room and can’t wait to have them join us for the “Big Reveal!” If you know of a child who could use our help or you want to sponsor a room yourself contact us to find out how. Only one more week until Mollie’s Room is complete!!!
Its almost time! Tomorrow from 10am-8pm we will be at the Flint Crepe Company on Saginaw Street in Flint collecting tips for Zoie Sky. The Crepe Co. is donating all of their tips for the day to us!
How awesome is that?! What’s even more is we have a title to defend. We currently hold the title for the biggest Tuesday Tips the Crepe Co has ever had, so we need a huge turnout to defend our title:) Also Jaren, a 10 year old amazing singer and guitar player, will be playing from 5:30pm to 7:00pm; trust me you don’t want to miss her. She’s going to be famous one day and don’t you want to be able to tell your friends you saw her before she hit it big?! So at some point tomorrow make room for some of the most delectable, amazing, and oh so yummy crepe’s you’ll ever taste and remember to tip big!
* If you do not live in the Flint area but still want to join in on the fun you can leave us a virtual tip by clicking on our “donate” tab and donating through our website.
How many of you have ever uttered the phrase “Thank Goodness It’s Friday”? I know I have and Facebook is full of the phrase. This got me thinking that this would be a great day to set aside to Pray for Children. Zoie Sky comes across many children from many different situations that need prayer. Whether it be children in foster care, children that have been abandoned by their families, children fighting terrible diseases, or simply children and their families that are burdened by poverty and circumstance, there are children that need our prayer. These are just a few examples. So we thought we would set aside a day a week to pray for all children. The ones in our community and beyond that need Gods touch. And we want to invite you to join us as advocates for children.
We simply ask that when you think, hear, or utter the phrase T.G.I.F. that you also say a prayer for all children that are carrying burdens beyond their years. Maybe you know a specific child that needs prayer, maybe you want to pray for Zoie Sky Families, or maybe you just want to trust God to work in the lives around you that you may not even be aware of, whatever it is just pray. Pray on behalf of Children and join us in being their advocates.
Thank you so much for your willingness and faithfulness, and Thank Goodness It’s Friday!
Mollie is just like any other thirteen year old girl. She loves swimming, golfing, playing basketball with her brother, and especially horseback riding. She adores her horse P.J. and she’s starting Middle School in the Fall. She’s sweet and friendly and shy. But while she sounds like every other teen girl there is one big difference from her and all her friends. Mollie has cancer.
When I met Mollie last week the first thing I noticed was her smile. She literally lit up the room. While she does have the bald head of a person fighting cancer, she looks anything but sick. She’s absolutely vibrant and honestly she rocks the no hair look. If you could meet her you would agree. She is seriously one of the happiest people I have ever met. Her excitement is contagious, and I am so excited to welcome her to the Zoie Sky family! I can’t wait to get started on her room! We will be ordering her furniture in the next week, then its on to picking all the right designs for the perfect room for Mollie. She has been through a lot the last four years and its her turn to be pampered and know just how special and amazing she is!
When you think of Mollie say a prayer or leave an encouraging comment for her below!
*By the way September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Go to http://www.choosehope.com/category/childhood-cancer-gold to order a Childhood Cancer Awareness silicone bracelet or ribbon to help remind you to pray for Mollie.
*Mollie requested that she not be photographed in order to protect her privacy. Thanks for your understanding:)

Hope to see you there!
Hi friends! We hope you all had a great week. We wanted to let you know of an exciting opportunity at Zoie Sky. You can now become a monthly donor by clicking on the “subscribe” button under the “donate” tab. This will allow you to donate a specific amount each month to help support our organization. The money you donate will go directly into the bedroom of a child in need. We also want to get the word out about Zoie Sky and the work we do and the change we wish to see in our community. So we are offering a FREE Zoie Sky T-shirt to the first 10 people to sign up as Monthly “Dreamers” of $25 or more. So think about it. What could you give up so that you could donate “a place to dream” for a child who desperately needs it?
Since I (Crystal) started my work with Zoie Sky back in May I’ve been trying to come up with a way to keep in touch with our Zoie Sky Families. See we’ve helped many families over the last four years and we’ve managed to stay in touch with a few of them, but we would love to be able to stay in touch with all of them. We want Zoie Sky to be more than just an experience, we want it to be a ministry. We don’t want our Zoie Sky families to just come in and out of our doors, we want them to stay and become our friends.
I was talking with my dad earlier today and it occurred to me that with all the technology we have somehow it can still be difficult to stay in touch. See my husband and I have been living in Flint for 5 years now and in that time we’ve had to try really hard to stay in touch with people. So much so that just last week I committed to trying to call my nana at least once a week to talk to her. My dad was telling me today that he had taken her out last week and she talked about how much my call had made her day. Its a simple thing to make a phone call, but often I find myself at the end of the day wondering where the time went. I think this happens to a lot of us. I’m sure we can all remember people who were once part of our daily lives that we rarely even talk to at all anymore. Sure maybe we can keep up with them on Facebook, but to really connect with people requires more than that. It requires sacrifice to form friendship.
That’s exactly what we want to do at Zoie Sky. We want to create a way to stay in contact with all our Zoie Sky Families and Friends. However, we want it to be more than just letters and quick “hello’s” on Facebook we want to somehow form long lasting relationships. As you can tell this is no easy task, and I can’t do it alone. So if you have any ideas on how we can better stay in touch or ways you’ve seen other organizations do this successfully I’d love to hear your ideas! Or if you’re a Zoie Sky Family we’d love to hear from you! What have you been doing? How can we better stay in contact?
Thanks so much to each and everyone of you. Its because of people like you that we are able to change our city one Zoie Sky Family at a time:)
Keep in touch…
Last week was another busy one here at Zoie Sky. We have so many new things happening its hard to keep track of them all! We launched our monthly giving option for donations, we met with and talked with lots of people in the community trying to get our name out, but most importantly we talked to our upcoming families for the Fall. We have three new Zoie Sky families that each have been sponsored by businesses in our community! It was so great to talk to each of the parents, I can’t wait to meet them soon. These projects will be scheduled for September, October, and November. So all in all its been a GREAT week! Our new families reminds us of the reason we do what we do and we can’t wait to see the smiles on their faces!
Please join us in praying for them as we start to plan their rooms.
Have A Great Week!!!
